A concert, a new product, and a freebie...oh my!

This has been a tough couple of weeks in a lot of ways, but also some fun too :)  I was able to go and see Carrie Underwood and Hunter Hayes (my new little crush even though I could probably be his mom :) in concert.  They were amazing!  My girls were thrilled and I'm sure my husband was drooling :)

The only thing that was wrong with this is that I'm still sick!  I just can't kick this cold and now I know why.  I finally decided to go to the dreaded "walk-in clinic" today (Sunday).  It was packed but I felt terrible enough to stay so after a couple of hours I finally learned that I had bronchitis, a sinus infection, as well as an eye infection (they've been goopy for a week...sorry...TMI).  I'm glad I went knowing that it would have only gotten worse without antibiotics and an inhaler for the bronchitis.  So I'm looking forward to finally starting to feel better in a day or so.
During our drive (6 hours to and from the concert) I was able to work on a couple requested projects.  I've been wanting to get them done and I finally had the time to do it.  My girls were so good on the 6 hour trip...not even one fight....amazing!!!!
My first project was my Weekly Reading Records Grouped by Reading Strategy.  I usually work on a strategy a week and then spiral my way through the year.  So....I made 7 different weeks of reading records with seven different strategies (one strategy per week).  These strategies include the following:

1.  Determining Importance
2.  Visualizing
3. Inferring
4.  Summarizing
5.  Synthesizing
6. Questioning
7.  Making Connections

They are also aligned to the Common Core Standards too!   A lot of people use these for their home reading logs (a place for parent signature and minutes read are on these for you) .  I have also had a lot of people comment that they are using these during literacy centers, daily 5, homework, and much more!  I'm so glad you are all so creative b/c you gave me more ideas to use these in the classroom.

Below is the week on Sythesizing.

If you would like to check this product out, just click HERE.  If you would like a little freebie of one of the weeks (Synthesizing) click HERE.  I hope you like it. I would also like to give away one of these to the first three people to pin it and then leave the pin url with your email address for me to send you the file.  Just a little thank you for following my blog even though I've been a little MIA lately.  So thank you for following anyway!

Stay tuned for another product with a freebie included tomorrow!

Preview and a Freebie

I have to make this short and sweet.  I've had the worst cold and my head feels like it's going to explode.  I went home half day...and slept...my students are dropping like flies too!  It's that time of year I guess.
This weekend I finished a more primary version to my weekly reading records (K-3 Weekly Reading Records with Daily Comprehension Activities (CCSS).  It made me want to teach a lower grade for the first time in a long while...maybe next year :)  I have included a FREEBIE (one full week of a reading record) HERE.  If you want to check out all five reading records just click HERE or the picture below.

Have a great week!

I was wondering what you all use for your TpT products.  I have just been using the traditional 2007 Powerpoint on a PC.  Is there a better program?  Publisher?  I'm just not that techie.  Granted...before this summer I barely knew the ins and outs of saving a pdf.  I'm not kidding...it would save to my mail downloads, then I couldn't find it and I did not know how to change it to save on my desktop, a certain folder, etc...  I seriously did not know a thing!  I've learned so much since then.  I researched all summer, watched YouTube Videos, googled information, poured over blogs,  etc...in preparation to start selling on TpT.  I'm a hard worker, but I've never worked so hard during a summer in my life.  I was a machine...the more I learned....the more I wanted to learn.
So now I want to invest a little in somethings to make my time...more efficient I guess.  Is there a better computer than the other?  Better programs to use?
So....I would love your advice!  In fact, the first five people to leave me some good advice will get any item from my TpT store...for free.  I just really appreciate and value all your opinions and want to thank you for your time responding to my questions.
So bring on the advice!
(and when you comment...leave your email address and the unit you would like from my TpT store and I will email you the file).

Thank you all SO much!

Currently and a freebie (of sorts)...

My mind's going fraction crazy right now.  I do this every time I teach fractions so I must be uncomfortable with how I teach it.  I need some fresh and new ideas...so I've been blog stalking hopping.  I have found so many great ideas!  You are all such wonderful teachers that it's actually kind of intimidating.  I've learned so much from you all...so thank you.  Here's a new task cards set and Scoot game I just made.....Comparing Fractions Task Cards and Scoot Game.  Check it out!

I sincerely can't draw and most of my craft projects look like a kindergartener made them....so remember that before you grab the pictures below!  I needed some different fraction lines to make a worksheet so I just started playing around on powerpoint.  I had no idea you could even "select all" and then "save as picture" until I accidentally did it.  I didn't measure or anything because I just needed a quick worksheet but feel free to grab them if you feel like you could use them.  Maybe when I have more time, I'll think about doing this with a ruler but I'm just too tired right now.

Have a fantastic Thursday!

Look What I Bought!

I'm linking up with Blog Hoppin today to show you what I bought at the TpT sale.  I bought way too much....but I just couldn't choose between them.  It's also kind of a random mix but that basically describes my school year this time around...in more ways than one.  My cart is already full of items from looking around on this linky...I'm in huge trouble as it's only the 5th of the month :)

Have a great week!  Stay tuned tomorrow for my Currently plus a little freebie...
